Youth charged with stealing, Gordonvale

A 12-year-old Gordonvale boy has been charged with one count of stealing following an incident on Clark Street yesterday. It is alleged an 89-year-old woman was driving her mobility scooter along the street when the youth approached on a bicycle just before midday. He allegedly bumped into the scooter and snatched her purse from a carry basket. The youth fled and was later located and arrested. He was further charged with possession of a dangerous drug and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act. QP1100456433; QP1100457278
