Youths arrested over tavern break-in, Manoora

Two girls aged 17 and 14 and a boy aged 14 were charged early this morning following the alleged break and enter of a Jensen Street Tavern. It is alleged that the trio forced entry to a window at the front of the premises before being disturbed by a tavern employee and fleeing on foot. Police located them in a nearby street where they were arrested and subsequently charged with breaking and entering a premise with intent. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 17. The 14-year-old girl and boy will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.
