Youths charged over property crimes, Cairns

Detectives from the Cairns Property Crime Squad are continuing to make inroads into local property crime. Four youths were charged with a total of 27 offences yesterday following investigations into a spate of crimes committed across the district in recent weeks. The male youths, aged between 13 and 16, were charge d with a number of offences including burglary; unlawful use of motor vehicles; stealing from vehicles; assault occasioning bodily harm and traffic offences. One the alleged offenders was charged with a total of 17 offences including eight of burglary. They will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.
