Youths charged with affray over CBD incident

Police were called to a large disturbance in City Place on Sunday afternoon. It is alleged that a group of up to 50 persons had gathered in the area at about 3.15pm and a fight broke out. Three male youths aged between 14 and 16 and one 17-year-old man were charged with affray in relation to the incident. The man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 28 and the youths will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.
