We drove down the HWY 1 coast from Morro Bay to San Onofre near San Clemente. What an incredible drive. Very beautiful. We couldn't stop taking pictures! We arrived at the campsite after dark and set up. JD had 5 surf sessions in our 3 days there. I attempted to boogie board but got pounded by the waves. We met a couple from Germany and spent our last night talking politics. Very fun place.

San Onofre State Beach has the most beautiful rocks. I collected plenty to share with students next year. This beach was beautiful and not crowded at all for a S. California beach.

Huge cliffs discourage travelers to this beach because the walk is so long downhill. It was definitely worth it!

I took this picture with my shoe to show the size of this rock. It was so cool and I wanted to take it with me, but I knew we wouldn't have room in the car for this and all the other stuff I have been collecting.
