We had intentions to visit the Meteor Crater, but it was closed when we got there. We were going to camp near the Homolovi Ruins, but since this is the beginning of the monsoon season in this part of Arizona, the lightening and pouring down rain changed our plans. We kept driving down the highway to a Best Western.

We had to drive over the Hoover dam to reach Arizona. It is always amazing to remember how much energy this dam provides to so many people.

They are building a new bridge over the river to help with the traffic problems. This bridge is going to be huge!

Welcome to Arizona!

I only thought it rained in Oregon.

After a very scary downpour, JD braved the rain to fix the windshield wiper that was close to falling off.

Despite the rain, it was a beautiful drive.
