Polk County Historical Society Museum. Formerly Hawkes Children's Library, constructed in 1919 by well-known Atlanta architect, Neel Reid, in Neoclassical Revival style. Entrance is recessed into a round-arched opening and is emphasized by Corinthia pilasters supporting a pediment. This building was listed on the National Register in 1980. Garden in rear has iron grills in fence that were originally part of the former courthouse’s clock tower. Historic fountain was previously located at the courthouse then at Peek Forest Park.
