Through a variety of programs, community partnerships and services, we oversee environmental health, disease control and community and family health.
The Polk County Health Department serves the entire population in the county. Our services are available to everyone regardless of age, race, religion, national origin, political belief, disability or sex. We charge only minimal fees for our services, and some services have adjusted fee scales based on ability to pay. We also accept Medicaid and Medicare. We make appointments on a weekly basis. You may call Friday prior to the week you wish to be seen to make your appointment for the following week.
