Freeway overpass
Transportation
One can infer by the landscaping of this overpass that Davis considers freeways a necessary evil -- noisy and unattractive. It is sunken below the rest of the city and surrounded by rows of trees to hide it and to muffle the noise coming from it. Like The Marketplace, it is crucial yet kept hidden behind green.
