Bring Beach is so named because of it's location behind the Bring Recycling Center. In the past few years it has suffered abuse in the form of trash and illicit sexual activity but this is being cleaned up with the help of ORCOBA and AANR-NW volunteer groups. With the moving of the Bring Recycling Center users have promoted te official designation of the location as Glassbar Island and Glassbar Beach.

There is lots of nice beach area and this one is worth a visit to lend naturist support to a continued nude beach.

Directions: Take the E 30th street exit off I5 just south of the bridge over the Willamette river. If you are heading north, follow Franklin blvd north a block or so to the intersection, turn right. If you are traveling south on I5, take the exit, turn left under I5, then left again on
Franklin Blvd, go a block or so north, then turn Right at the intersection. Follow the road under the RR trestle, you'll see the old Bring Recycling center on the left. Just past that, you'll see a dirt parking lot. Park there, or somewhere along the roadside. At the north end of the parking lot you'll see a fairly broad dirt path. Follow it to the river and many of the area ponds, or sloughs. Ask the users in the area, they will point you in the right way.....

Update: A beach users groups formally affiliated with AANR is taking the lead in making Glassbar island Nude Beach safe, comfortable, clean and well on it's way to acceptance. They have an excellent website at: http://www.glassbarisland.org/
