Riverview Theatre
Art Houses
A single-screen comfort from the 1950's, the Riverview embodies the neighborhood theater. The Riverview shows second-run wide releases and indie pics at a truly affordable price ($2-3 as of 5/09), as well as the occasional special engagement, concert film, or video game tournament, and is the home of the screenings for the local 48-hour film festival. Family films air earlier in the day, R-rated features later.
If you think that a vintage theater means uncomfortable seats and bad sound, the Riverview will prove you wrong. The 500-seat auditorium has beautiful acoustics and modern seating, with better lines of sight than most multiplexes.
