Ophir Mill

Quartz Mills

Virginia City had quartz to mill but no water. A road was built west to WV and wagons hauled the ore to the Ophir Mill. A wood causeway was built across the wetlands. The mill employed 165 men but only operated between 1861 and about 1865. Some Ruins
