Lambertville Historical Society Marshall House
Museums
The Marshall House, an 1816 Federal Brick structure is on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places. This was the boyhood home of James Wilson Marshall, a man who discovered gold in California in 1848. The home is now the headquarters of the Lambertville Historical Society.
The museum is furnished with period antiques, and the society maintains thousands of items including a collection of antique handmade quilts from the region. The museum and the society stage exhibitions from the collections like past exhibits that documented Lambertville's industrial history and it's shad fishing industry.
The museum is open April through October, and all year by appointment.
