Lancaster County Amish Quilts & Rainbow Yarn: Navajo Weavings, Germantown Yarns and the PA Connection
The Quilt & Textile Museum's permanent collection showcases quilts produced by Amish women in Lancaster County between the late 19th century and the mid-20th century. Visitors will learn about the history of the Amish, defining characteristics of Lancaster County Amish quilts, the process of making a quilt and more. Also featuring an exciting display of Navajo weaving focusing on the history and influence of the wool yarn produced in the Germantown area of Philadelphia upon Navajo weavings.
