Empowerment Congress North Area Development Council (NANDC) Park[ing] - - Park[ing] Day LA - The third annual Park[ing] Day LA, which will be on Friday, September 18th, will bring together a diverse constituency of community groups, neighborhood councils, design & architecture firms, professional organizations, non-profits, cyclists & pedestrian advocates as they work together to transform numerous parking spaces & parking lots located throughout LA into ephemeral parks for the day. By occupying a parking spot and feeding the meter, volunteers will enhance the street with a sustainably designed pocket-park.

Tree People will be on hand to explain the need of citizen foresters and to sign people up for a fruit tree give away

We will also be hosting our own local parks: Expo, Denker, MLK and Hoover Rec will be on hand giving out information on the wonderful programs available to our community (Our Olympic Pool, Renovated Baseball Field, Dance Programs etc)

Finally we will have a skate park as we are looking to build community support for our efforts to bring a permanent skate park
to South LA.
