The Green Book was a travel guide for Black people during the times of segregation. It was published yearly and listed places in cities around the country that Black people could visit without discrimination or harassment. In Los Angeles specifically, the area known as South Central was one of the only areas in the city where Blacks could go freely and without harassment. When looking at these locations, think about how the area has changed over time.
