The Alaska Bird Observatory will be investigating basic breeding ecology of 7 target species: Arctic Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, Savannah, White-crowned, and American Tree Sparrow and Gray-cheeked Thrush. We will be taking vegetation measurements to assess if climate change is affecting this particular suite of birds. In addition to nest searching, point counts, spot-mapping and vegetation surveys, we will also be target netting adults--most of these species are monomorphic so colorbands will enable us to differentiate birds.
