We are starting off, leaving the beautiful and lush lands of Eugene toward our month long journey.

We drove to San Francisco our first day. We met up with JD's sister, Jen and stayed the night with her. The next morning, we met an old roomate, Alicia and had a great breakfast after riding our bikes through the streets of San Francisco.

We stopped in Monterey for the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This is by far the greatest aquarium I have visited.

We drove down the HWY 1 coast from Morro Bay to San Onofre near San Clemente. What an incredible drive. Very beautiful. We couldn't stop taking pictures! We arrived at the campsite after dark and set up. JD had 5 surf sessions in our 3 days there. I attempted to boogie board but got pounded by the waves. We met a couple from Germany and spent our last night talking politics. Very fun place.

After visiting the aquarium, we drove down to Morro Bay, Montana de Oro campground to camp. We thought we had to hike in 2 miles with our stuff. Worst of all, it was raining! When we got there, we could drive and park right at our campsite. What a relief! When light broke, the view was beautiful!

We stayed in Las Vegas for free after visiting a time share. We had our share of fun, but didn't win big.

This place was incredible. It is amazing to think that you can go almost 1000 feet underground in a cavern.

We had intentions to visit the Meteor Crater, but it was closed when we got there. We were going to camp near the Homolovi Ruins, but since this is the beginning of the monsoon season in this part of Arizona, the lightening and pouring down rain changed our plans. We kept driving down the highway to a Best Western.

We tried to make it all the way through Texas, but at 11 pm, we were too tired to keep going.

We found out about this island of the coast of Florida. We stayed in the state campground that was voted the best campground in the U.S. The beaches were beautiful, but the mosquitos were awful! It was really hot, and we didn't sleep at all.

We finally made it through Texas and Louisiana and Mississippi and Alabama and into Florida. We were driving machines that day!

After he awful night of sleep we had on the island, we decided to drive and find a hotel. We stumbled upon Perry. Not much to see here, but very friendly people.

We stopped here after looking at the map and seeing a couple of campgrounds. However, all campgrounds were full and all hotels on the island were full. Long story...we ended up driving to Jacksonville, then up to Fernandina Island, then back to Jacksonville and finally found a hotel near the airport around 11pm. After ending up in Jacksonville, we decided to come back to St. Augustine to stay the night. I guess the surfing was too good to pass up.

We finally found a hotel here in Jacksonville. Our plans are to head back to Fernandina Island and have some fun in the water. The water has been around 85 degrees.

What a great stop. We didn't plan on staying so long, but fell in love with the area and the family. Annapolis is so close to so many great things to do. However, we did run out of time.

We took a short Metro ride to downtown Washington D.C. to see some real U.S. history.

We tried to make it all the way to Chicago in one day, but couldn't do it. We made it all the way to Howe.

We were on our way to Yellowstone, when we heard that they had closed the entrance due to a fire. We had to change our plans, and head North.
