Wizard Golf Course
4601 W Leeshire Blvd
Myrtle Beach, SC 29579, USA
If you thought that golf courses at the beach lacked elevation changes, wait until you play The Wizard. Dan Maples created a landscape that will remind you of the mountains. Take Hole #13, for example. It's a 408-yard, Par 4 that plays through a valley, surrounded by towering mounds covered with all kinds of flowers, shrubs, and Love grass. That Love grass is beautiful, but it's a beast if you get caught in it. The slight dogleg right of the layout is perfect for my left-to-right shot. The second shot is onto a large undulating green, guarded by two bunkers in the front. Shooting par on #13 is a satisfying experience!

Glen Dornoch Golf Links
4840 Glen Dornoch Way
Little Rive, SC 29566, USA
Master architect Clyde Johnston's creation, Glen Dornoch, welcomed its first players in September of 1996. The 270-acre site is blessed with a dense stand of oaks, pines, and magnolias. Coastal golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area are usually rather flat but this site has several natural 35-foot elevation changes, which slope down to South Carolina's most beautiful stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway.
With respect for the land, the golf course was built one hole at a time. At Myrtle Beach's Glen Dornoch, each hole flows with the natural terrain of lakes, live oaks, and spectacular marsh and river views. If you've ever dreamed of playing one of the world's truly great courses.... that dream can now be a reality. On line tee times are now available!

Sea Trail Plantation & Golf - Maple Course
651 Clubhouse Rd
Sunset Beach, NC 28468, USA
Golf Digest declared the Dan Maples Signature Course as one of the "Best New Resort Courses" in the nation in 1986. Twisted ancient oaks, tall Carolina pines and tifdwarf greens define each hole on the beautiful par-72 course, still regarded as one of Maples' finest.Five holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, home to nesting pairs of osprey. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers; with the waste bunker on #15 extending the full length of the fairway, making it a challenge for even the experienced golfer. Adding to the challenge is the use of attributes of the land and water in this natural setting, causing the golfer to ponder both the layout and the beauty of the course. But be advised . . . the Maples course is no "walk in the park"!
