Eddie's Attic (Mondays)
501 - 599,0 - 0 N Mcdonough St
Decatur, GA 30030, US
Sign-up is held at 7:00 p.m. each Monday for any slots that may be available for that night. Please be aware that most open mics are already full for that night, so you will most likely be signing up for a future Monday night, usually three to four weeks out. You must sign up in person. Players may only be signed up for one future Monday at a time. Keep in mind that many regular open mic players go ahead and book their next open mic gig when they come in for their performance, so slots fill up quickly. Out-of-towners passing through may call Monday through Friday between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and sign up by phone (404-377-4976, press "0").

The Jammin' Java Open Mic, hosted by David Cotton, is held every Monday night at 7:00pm. The show is always free and all are welcome.
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
How do you sign up to play?
Contact David Cotton. The open mic fills up fast, sometimes weeks before so contact David as soon as possible. Be sure to sign up with David Cotton. Jammin Java staff do not handle signups. Also, if you need to cancel, contact David, not JJ. Please use it for last minute emergencies only.
What if there are no spaces left on the night of the show?
You may place your name on a waiting list; if a performer who signed up in advance is late or doesn't show up, you may be able to take that spot. If we do not find a spot for you on that night's show, you will be given priority for a space next time.
What do you provide? Do I need to bring anything?
We provide a sound system with 2-3 vocal mics and 2 direct input lines for instruments. Please limit the number of backup players. If you are using a keyboard, be sure to come early and test it to be sure we can amplify it properly.
How many songs can I play?
Each act does two songs or 8 minutes total. Please be aware of your time and select two songs which will fit the time each act is allotted.

Every Tuesday night, the Tortilla Factory Restaurant, in partnership with the Herndon-Reston Folk Club, sponsors an open-mike night. Anyone may sign up to play a couple songs in the folk music tradition. This club is patterned after clubs developed in England and is a comfortable home for developing musicians as well as old time performers.
Attendees may, but are not required to, join the club for a nominal fee. Club members receive a newsletter of upcoming events sponsored by the club and discounts on monthly concerts. Monthly concerts are by nationally recognized performers such as Tom Paxton, Pete Kennedy, Chick Pyle, and many more.
The club has been meeting at the Tortilla Factory for 15 years and is a wonderful place to hear great music, meet new friends, and support the arts in your local community. Contact the club for additional information at 703-689-0444. Ask for Ray or Ellen Kaminsky.

Couple of comments from OpenMikes.org regarding this Open Mic:
This is Charles from the Baja Bean Open Mic again, with a brief update. We are now recording every show and posting them online at bajabeanopenmic.com. It's a great way to get your music out there. You're now playing for the whole world, not just the Bean.

Signups are at 8:30pm, and the show starts at 9:00pm. Every show is recorded, and I will e-mail folks MP3 versions of their sets free of charge. We have a PA with Mics and direct instrument inputs. Bluebird Cafe (Mondays)
4104 Hillsboro Cir
Nashville, TN 37215, US
For writers who haven't played at the Bluebird and writers from out of town, Open Mic is the place to start. It gives songwriters a chance to play 2 of their own original songs, solo, or accompanied by no more than 2 others on stage. Drums and backing tracks are not allowed. Open Mic is a great place to try out new material, meet other writers, become a part of the songwriting community, and practice your performing skills. We recommend that all new writers play Open Mic here at the Bluebird as well as at the many other writers clubs in Nashville, on a regular basis.
Often we have more writers come to Open Mic than we have time and space for. In this case, we offer writers a "play next time" ticket, so that if the writer doesn't get to play the first time he or she tries, the writer will definitely get to play the next time he/she tries. Sign up Monday nights at 5:30. You must be signed up by 5:45. The line up is announced at 6:00, show runs 6:00-9:00.
