Newcastle: very friendly I think
When I came up and visited last year I was struck by how friendly people were.. a real sense of community in the places I went to.. very different to West Berkshire.
Dark train station...
The people hanging out at Slough train station made it a little scary the other day.. broad daylight but lots of aggression.. smashing of bottles and stuff. Not nice.
Oxford
People wouldn't stop to give you the time of day if you were injured and dying on the street. Very much town and gown
Salisbury
Always found the people in Wiltshire quite friendly and open to chat to anyone walking past. Nice sense of community.
The Village of Smalley
I'm biased because I live here, but the majority of people you pass on the street will smile and say hello...
Hereford
Hereford, County of Herefordshire
UK,
I went here on placement and I've never met such nice people. Simple things like holding a door were done as a matter of course and people were just really friendly in general, smiling in the street and saying hello!
Dartmoor National Park
You can go up to Dartmoor any day and in any weather conditions and every fellow walker you go past will say hello at the very minimum..guaranteed!
Liverpool
Despite the usual bad press it receives, Liverpool has many friendly people who are all more than happy to say hello an help you out.
Liverpool
It's a shame as there are nice people, but unfortunately the majority of the ones I've come across haven't been too nice!
Chesterfield
Everyone I've ever met here has been really friendly and hospitable.
Bracknell
Bracknell, Bracknell Forest
UK,
Laid down in the 60's in a single lump of concrete glory, Bracknell sits far enough away from london to be seperate, but not quite far enough to escape the general feeling of stress and misery. While rife with large numbers of rather unhappy Chavs and council estates, Bracknell has it's good parts, such as the headquarters of hundreds of enormous companies (for some reason) and the highest roundabout:person ratio in the south-east.
Sheffield City Centre
Since the first time I came here people have been nice to me, there is the odd miserable one though!
Bournemouth
Bournemouth
England, GB
The older citizens are lovely people, but when you spend a lot of time on the bus like me, you do find some very rude people.
The youngg uppr class aren't the friendlist of people either.
Christchurch
Christchurch, Dorset
Christchurch, England, GB
Full of wonderful down to earth, and most importantly happy people.

London

Everyone feels depressed, and seem to have given up on life.
Cambridge
Cambridge City, Cb4 1, United Kingdom, GB
I once held a shop door open at Christmastime in Cambridge; I counted 7 people coming through; not a single one of them made eye contact with me, smiled, or said "thankyou". That kind of thing happens the whole time in Cambridge.
Glasgow, Lanarkshire
Glasgow, Scotland, GB
Friendliest place I've ever lived. :)
Paul's Place
Paul is always pleased to make new mates.
Pembroke

The locals are friendly. English people aren't instantly hated as is the case in welsh speaking areas of wales.

Hit and miss here. Some of the locals are friendly and others are just plain weird.
Cardiff
Cardiff, South Glamorgan
Cardiff, Wales, GB
You will LOVE the people of Cardiff. They're all very friendly and will make everyone feel welcome. The city is vibrant and full of culture with a great mix of people from different backgrounds. Everyone here is lovely, I really mean it. The complete opposite to London!!!!
Kensington & Chelsea
I think 99% of the people who live here should be culled. They HATE everyone and everything (apart from money, of course). Very rude, obnoxious and unfriendly!
Bristol
Bristol, Avon
Bristol, England, GB
On the whole, a friendly place - but there are a few unfriendly sods lurking around the place. Gordano services on the M5 is staffed by some of the rudest people ever - so be warned.
Ebbw Vale
Lots of friendly people here! :)
Swansea
Swansea
Wales, GB
Generally OK, but very suspicious of outsiders (even people from other parts of wales!). It's also a nightmare to drive around as there are hardly any road signs and the road system makes NO SENSE.
London Heathrow
All human life is here and it isn't very nice.
Dublin
Ok, not part of the UK - but the people are very friendly! :)
Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough
England, GB
Nearly everyone here is really friendly, especially in the town centre. A shame we have such bad press, as most people are, unlike how the media reports, hard-working and caring for everyone.
Summerseat

Nice little village, local pubs, great place.
Frinton-on-sea
People here are mostly friendly, they will help you if your lost and say hello when you pass them on the street

I went there on a university trip. We got a man who just came up and hugged us!

Another Uni trip and we had people just standing behind us tapping their feet instead of saying "excuse me"
