The easiest and most enchanting way to reach Friday Harbor, WA is by ferry from Anacortes, WA. A fun and relaxing trip for sure.
Schedules change by season but you can plan on a bit of a trip, but it's totally worth it!

Anacortes to Friday Harbor is about an hour and a half.

Summer months there is a ferry from Sidney BC to Friday Harbor and Anacortes.

This charming day-use area is on the west side of San Juan Island. If you dont want to view whales from a boat, this is the next best place as the Orcas are common in the waters off Lime Kiln.
The park is open year round from 8am to dusk.

This National HIstorical Park is located southeast of Friday Harbor, about six-miles. The prairies and hiking trails of american camp offer a great view of the local flora and fauna. There are eighteen varieties of Raptors that live in the park, and many birders consider American camp one of the best bird-watching areas in the world.
American Camp Visitor's Center is open during various hours during the summer and fall. Check their website for details.

The Friday Harbor airport offers by San Juan Airlines from Anacortes, Bellingham, EastSound (Orcas Island), Lopez Island, Blakely and Decatur.
You can also fly Kenmore Air from Roche Harbor, Seattle/Boeing Field, and Seattle/Lake union field.
There are also Charter and Sightseeing Flights available via plan or helicopter.
