Still in NY, we are packing all the stuff for the trip tonight and stopped to go see Case's band play at union pool. It was awesome, we are both totally blown away.

Excited about tomorrow and nervous to. The weather reports are not really great, it's suppose to rain for the next 4 days, I really hope they are wrong.

This is an amazing parkway with the best name ever! It's a beautiful forest with a lot of small streams. I saw a cool white bird dive into the water and snag a fish. The trees are just starting to bloom and it's so beautiful.

The only non chain restaurant we came across around here. All the rest is dunken donuts. It's full of old people and seem very popular. We don't know what the food is like cause we are waiting for it right now. Everyone's real friendly though.

this place looks like an old folks home in the middle of nowhere! we stopped to charge the computer and find a hotel for the night. It's about 11:00PM so, getting late. The ride here was beautiful, all forests and lakes.

We found out that we mitght have forgotten Ned's phone at home, hoping to find it in the bottom of the bag when we get to the hotel. 14 miles away.

Stopped here for the night, this island looks amazing in the dark, I can't wait to see is by daytime. Nice motel full of collage kids.

This place is amazing! it's tiny, super crowded no the weekend and beautiful, it's a real old fashion diner and the food is amazing. We both had biscuit and Gravy which was really good after an hour and a half of very cold riding on the freeway.

This is the most amazing ride ever! it's have an amazing view of the valley, or at least in most days. Today it was misty and airy and it was strange and beautiful to ride through.

Cool motel, very 70's penthouse style. We rode a bit around town and think about spending the day tomorrow cause it's so cute nad it's supposed to rain.

Just pass through and went into the Dunkin donuts for coffee and tea. It was very cold outside.

Stopped here to get some warmer gloves and a neck thing. It went much better since then, but still the day was very cold!

Got here cold and hungry and met a couple of bikers that were just as cold and hungry as we... The food was amazing. One of the best burgers I ever had, and the people were really nice. It's really a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

Tiny town, really remote, so much so that even the gas station was non-chainstore. A lot of overweight men with camouflage gear.

This place really saved us, it was SO cold up on the mountain, we were freezing our asses off. Really, it was frightfully cold.

This hotel is inside the park and is beautiful! slightly too expensive but well worth it on a cold cold cold evening!

Actually not so famous, personally, I have never heard of him before. We stopped there for an early lunch which was sort of OK.

This was an amazing ride! the view is spectacular and we saw a lot of animals including deer and a vulture eating roadkill then flying away.

Beautiful town, there's some sort of artist community and a lot of art related activities including some tour of the mountains that has something to do with music.

We stopped to eat at this tiny restaurant and it was really nice. Plus two little girls kept making faces at us.

Funny town with a funny name, it's actually probably a city, we only passed through and the only interesting thing I know about it is that it's got a boots museum.

Oh, also, it's supposed to have some importance in the history of country music.

Another place we just went through. I can't really say anything about it but that it was very clean. Also, we like the fact that it's on Grayson county which is named after our friend grayson.

The first spot we got to after crossing into North Carolina - it was just as the sun was starting to set and everything was golden and beautiful. This whole area is amazing! there are a lot of Christmas tree farms which all looks like miniature forests and also we saw a bison farm!

This university is probably the reason for this town, it's mostly fast food and hotels for when some sports group or another have a game.

Damit ! I just realized though we were trying to not sleep in chain hotels, this is one and we are here. It's actually sort of cool in a creepy hotel sort of a way.

This place is amazing! it's a huge huge park with a lot of animals and waterfalls and lakes and rivers and a whole bunch of stuff.

Sadly, no restaurants that open after 7:00 PM

Aside of that it's perfect in every way.

We came here to do a certain part of the road called Tail of the Dragon, it's very curvy and beautiful. The whole area is full of motorcycles doing the same thing. And also a lot of mini coopers in for their annual drive.

It's a "biker resort" which basically means prison style rooms and a lot of bikers telling bike stories. It was cool to sleep in the area though and do more rides in the park in the morning.

This was a really cool eating stop, the food was really great and the waitress was the nicest person we met so far! she was friendly and had a nice sense of humor.

A very touristic town, but very lovely to. The restaurant was really sweet, also, my first encounter with vegetables in NC. I had some pasta salad and Ned had a boritto. Both were really good.

Just a small town we passed. This area is really nice, it's not touristy at all, nor is it all controlled by chain stores, it just feels like real people are living there.

Again, just another small town, I'm really glad we took the small roads here it was very cool to see what parts of NC actually look like out of the freeway and parkway range.

A very odd looking mountain with the amazing feature of a dick looking rock - this whole tiny town's tourist industry is based on that and some wood sculpture of bears. It's a really funny place. A lot of cool roadside attractions and just general feel of old place.

Plus, of course, everything closes at 6:00 PM

We are actually staying in a different motel, but this is much more fun - and has a tiki bar (whatever that is) we had dinner there and it was pretty good.

This was one of the most beautiful rides we did on this trip, it's not a state park or a famous spot or anything, just an amazing ride - a lot of bikers in the area and a lot of fun and beautiful view.

By this time I was getting really tired, the wind was blowing hard and the freeway is really monotonous to look at and boring.

This place was a great stop, we picked it at random just cause we were both tired, it turned out to be a great 50's diner full of memorabilia, funny waitresses and a couple of old bikers that gave us tips and talked about biking and life in NC.

Also, we checked the weather and it turned out that we are 2.5 hours ahead of the storm!

We were only passing by but it looked beautiful. The lake is huge, so big that I couldn't see the end of it. The air felt and smelled like the sea.

A biker grill that was very lively, they have, music, concerts, bikini bike wash on the weekends for breast cancer and a lot of other stuff. The food was not so great, but the people were nice.

It was just weird to be in a biker bar where we were the only people doing any riding aside of to and from the bar.

It was a bit hard to find, but I'm so glad we got here! the only non chain place in a full of chain hotels and store area. Also the place is pretty much full for the "ham and yam" festival!

Cool decoration, very nice people, there's a restaurant and a bar also and a funny swimming pool in the middle of the parking lot.

A beautiful place, really quite and peaceful. The road that leads here is amazing! it goes on many bridges that are in a very odd looking marshland covered in white grass, after all the green from the mountains, it was so nice to see blue and white and gray.

There are a couple of hotels there, which looked nice, we had linch in one of them

We arrived to ocracoke after dark, but it looks like a beautiful place, I can't wait to see it by daytime. We got a little lost and an old man helped us out and then told us hunting nutrients stories for half an hour. The hotel is small and nice and quite.

The ferry ride we took here was really nice, it was 2 hours long, but the time went by really fast cause we had a nice conversation with a guy who works on the ferry.

A beautiful place. we only saw it by motorcycle ride but there were so many places we both wanted to stop in. Beautiful beaches, lighthouses, museum! it's really amazing.

I do hope I get to go to this area again

We went to the Harley Davidson dealership in Kitty hawk to give olga her 5000 miles check up, they were really great there, even though it was frustrating to wait for 3 hours in the store.

We called and made reservations without seeing any pictures of this place - it's a time share which means our room is like a normal size apartment, and ugly! however it,s right on the beach and we woke up to the sounds of the waves and a beautiful view of the ocean.

This was a very cool restaurant in a gas station. It was full of stuffed fish on the wall and old fishing equipments, the stuff was really nice and funny.

The most amazing ride in the word!

This is a long bridge that crosses the ocean! it contains 3 bridges and 2 tunnels, it's amazing to just ride like that with nothing to look at but the sea.

A very odd fast food place with a lot of icecream and fries just across the street from a graveyard and apparently the hang out of teenage girls from the nearest school.

It's a good place for both pedophiles and necrophiliacs, but aside of that, not much is going on.

we crossed the water and into new jersey by ferry, it was beautiful, but I got a bit sea sick and the people were not as nice as the one in NC.

A really nice hotel with a really nice woman in the front desk, beautiful view of the ocean and a pool.

Cape may looks like a tourist imitation of other places that we have been in, and basically so decorated and colorful it looks like a wedding cake.

Last meal before going home. This place had really nice omelettes and strange Mucha stain glass windows. We were both tired from riding in the wind and from knowing we'll be home in just a bit.

We were caught by rain on the way out of there, but didn't get too wet...
