Lets try and put together a list/map of recommended things to do in the Ken (or nearby, at least). To add a place, you'll need to first register and log in, and then you can add locations and edit what you add. If you have any comments on a location already posted, you don't need to be logged in to do that.

Neku: Ise Grand Shrine
Ise,
Neku, the Ise Inner Shrine and main Shinto Shrine for all of Japan, is a huge open reserve with ancient forests nestled at the foot of the mountains and gardens hugging the rivers edge. The shrine represents the protective divinity of the Emperor and, therefore, of all of Japan and houses the sacred mirror, one of three supposedly ancient artifacts given the first emperors by the Sun Goddess.

The museum is very hands on and interesting. English headphones are available for the several shot films that are shown regularly each day, including the exceptional "Saio Procession".
