A Novel Approach: Literary Inspiration


The Demuth Museum's Annual Invitational exhibit features the work of over 30 local artists who explore the theme of literary illustration. This year's exhibition takes its theme from Charles Demuth's series of watercolors inspired by contemporary literature of his day.

Featuring turn of the century photographs by Ferdinand Demuth and photographic latern slides by fellow Lancaster camera club member William Zell, along with contemporary artist Will Lindsay's digital latern slide photographs inspired by these historical processes.

Moments in Time: Landscape Paintings by Stephen Brehm

The Quilt & Textile Museum's permanent collection showcases quilts produced by Amish women in Lancaster County between the late 19th century and the mid-20th century. Visitors will learn about the history of the Amish, defining characteristics of Lancaster County Amish quilts, the process of making a quilt and more. Also featuring an exciting display of Navajo weaving focusing on the history and influence of the wool yarn produced in the Germantown area of Philadelphia upon Navajo weavings.
