Come and explore Miami's Little Havana Neighborhood as seen throught the eyes of photographer Michael Strader Marko. The area is in the heart of Miami, Florida. It's where I grew up and I never lose my fascination. Like an ancient city accustomed to invasion, Miami has absorbed the influences of successive waves of immigrants. Most of these are relatively recent. Cubans fleeing Castro's government, then other Latin Americans from all over South and central America. Each has leant his influence to the city, it's politics, commmerce and cuisine. Arguably the Cubans have had the largest effect of any of these groups. Indeed Miami is in many ways a Cuban town, as the name given the area first occupied by the Cubanos implies: Little Havana. But remember, it's about the photos!
