New England (and Beyond!)
Last Update: 11/27/11
-Mt. Shasta Ski Bowl, CA added
-Sky Trails Ski Area, OR added
-Tomahawk Ski Bowl, OR added.

Many ski hills throughout New England have had to close over the years for various reasons (small size, insurance rates, increased competition, lack of interest, etc.) Visiting and exploring abandoned ski areas has always been hobby of mine, and this list chronicles all of the various abandoned (or "lost") ski areas of New England (and beyond!) that I have visited over the years, as well as info about what's left (if anything). Those I have explored have been given an orange marker and star ratings (more stars = easier to explore, lots of lift/building remains, etc). Some areas I have attempted to explore but were either on private property, not viewable from a public road, or just lost to time completely. These are denoted with grey markers. Others still that I have explored have reopened in various states since my visits and have been marked in lime green. This is by no means a complete list of New England's abandoned ski areas. For more info on these and many other lost ski areas of New England (and elsewhere), visit http://www.nelsap.org. Enjoy, and happy hunting!
