1898 City Directory: (Fry St. was called Walker St. at this time.) John Boland was the superintendent of construction for the Capitol. Commission though he lists Butler-Ryan as his employer in the 1898 City Directory. He was born in Ireland in 1844 and emigrated in 1849. His son, Henry, born in Minnesota in 1878 is found working as a laborer on an invoice for extra work done in 1904. John's youngest son, George, born in Minnesota in 1889, is found in the 1905 Payroll working as a laborer when he was 15. By 1910 Henry was working as a draughtsman and George was an apprentice carpenter.
