They had the World's Fair here back in 1962. Since then, the park has been largely ignored by the masses. Still has remnants of the fair like the classic unisphere. Home of the restaurant Terrace On The Park, The Queens Museum, an indoor ice skating rink and the New York Hall of Science. The Queens museum contains the only scale model of the city in existence.
