1901 City Directory. Alexander McCallum was born in Canada of Scottish parents in 1839 and came to the U.S. in 1865. His son Wallace (1880-1938) was born and lived his whole life in Minnesota. Alexander was a "bridge contractor" according to the Census and worked on the Capitol as a foreman for Butler-Ryan. Wallace listed his occupation as "carpenter" in the City Directory but said he was a stationary engineer in the Census.
