Quake rocks Indonesia's Aceh

A tectonic quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale rocked Aceh Singkil District, Aceh Province of Indonesia, at about 11:30 a.m. local time on Saturday.

The tremor was also felt in Gunung Sitoli, Nias and Sibolga, North Sumatra, said official news agency Antara.

An official of the Meteorological and Geophysics Office for First Territory of North Simatra, Hartono, said the epicenter of the quake was in Sumatra Island's western coast or about 15 km from Aceh Singkil.
