Watts Gallery, a national gallery in the heart of Compton village, re-opened in late Spring 2011 after an £11 million restoration. Housing a collection of works by the eminent Victorian artist, G.F. Watts, it is one of the most beautiful small galleries in Europe. The nearby Watts Chapel is an Arts and Crafts masterpiece, full of Art Nouveau imagery and designed by Mary Watts. The Tea Shop on the estate sells a variety of home-made cakes, scones and hot or cold lunch options.
