Intersection + turn lanes
At several intersections like this, the left turning auto traffic is given a turn lane, and the straight-moving auto traffic is guided to the right of the left turn lane. Often, the straight moving traffic lane (governed on the right by a while solid line) will move all the way to the curb. When straight-moving traffic is guided tightly to the curb, the "bike shoulder" is eliminated, and a cyclist is forced to merge with traffic to pass through the intersection. This is not the only intersection like this.
