The power plant
The line cuts off and through a huge power plant. Does anyone know how much of Brooklyn would be affected if/when this area floods? As you pass the power plant you can hear (and almost feel) the buzzing and clicking of the electricity.

Lighting the beacons
I am lighting the beacons which trace the HWL through parks. The Brooklyn Bridge Park installation was up for 2 days and nights and was the last installation of the beacons.

Nelson Hancock Gallery
Nelson Hancock was interested in showing the documentation of the project as part of a really interesting show called Topos : Brooklyn. I even stowed the heavy hitter and some spare tires there overnight (in a very Beuys-ian manner).

Drawing the line under the bridges
I drew the line in DUMBO the same weekend as the Dumbo Arts Center Arts Under the Bridge Festival. It was fun to be a big part of the creativity, but at the same time a lot of people didn't ask what I was doing since there were a whole lot of weird things going on in the area.

Where's my house?
Many people I talked to wanted to know where the line was in relation to their own property. These people lived right on the line in Dumbo (but as they said, thankfully on the second floor). Most people in South Brooklyn had knowledge of where the flood zones were and what to do if a big storm was on its way. Once I got into the areas like Gowanus, Red Hook, Carrol Gardens, Dumbo and Williamsburg, people were no longer as aware of their environmental location.
