cars rarely stop
Despite signage, cars rarely stop for bikes or pedestrians crossing main street just east of the camden/kings highway junction. Anyone with ideas to improve safety?
Crossing Hartford Rd. on the bike path is dangerous. The path should be 1 continuous route on the same side of the street.
Intersection + turn lanes
At several intersections like this, the left turning auto traffic is given a turn lane, and the straight-moving auto traffic is guided to the right of the left turn lane. Often, the straight moving traffic lane (governed on the right by a while solid line) will move all the way to the curb. When straight-moving traffic is guided tightly to the curb, the "bike shoulder" is eliminated, and a cyclist is forced to merge with traffic to pass through the intersection. This is not the only intersection like this.
Shoulder eliminated near intersection
At this intersection (and many like them), the shoulder used for cycling is eliminated to accomodate auto traffic turn lanes. A left turn lane takes the place of straight-moving traffic while straight-moving traffic is shifted all the way to the curb. The zone a cyclist would ride in is therefore pinched off as the white solid line approaches the curb. This forces cyclists to merge with 30mph traffic to proceed straight through the intersection. It would be nice if some shoulder (space between white line and curb) was maintained for cyclists.
Tight between moving and parked traffic
Where cars are parallel parked along main street, there is often not enough space for moving auto traffic to safely pass a cyclist. I tend to ride quickly, and move over when there's a long string of open parking spots, but a few drivers still may stack up behind me. I almost always keep out of the "door zone" of parked cars, and auto traffic should pass cyclists by 3 feet.

Oak/Chester Ped Crossing
High speed and volumes makes this a difficult pedestrian crossing area.

Parked vehicles block shoulder
There is a wide shoulder but any parked vehicles make it uncomfortable
