please no dog parks. This is a city for humans. I dont even want to begin to explain why you shouldnt have a dog in the city, but then to have them take over parks that arent designated as dog parks like this path and powderhouse keep your dogs on leash and pick up its shit... dont encourage dog ownership in this city

Regarding the full extension... On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, the Green Line Extension Project Team will hold a public meeting to review the latest design plans for Community Path. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn Hotel Somerville, 30 Washington Street, Somerville, MA from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Friends-There will be another meeting on Monday November 21, 2011 at 7pm in the Community Room of the VNA (259 Lowell Street). At the meeting we had some discussion about the triangle space just passed Lowell street between the tracks and the end of the path as a possible area for a dog park or off-leash zone. I think it would be great to have an off-leash area available for people who walk their dogs along the path and for the surrounding neighborhood. Right now, to my knowledge, there are no off-leash zones around the path or the Magoun Square area.

One big issue on the existing path is all of the different types of users. This is partly a problem because there are no signs or arrows explaining proper path etiquite. Cedar to Lowell offers a opportunity to separate some of the users. What if we had a more rustic stone dust path that went up high ontop of the ledge on the Alpine side of the ROW? The biggest problem I see with this is how close it would be to the back yards. Also if the path could be shifted at Cedar St to one side or another it would create an oppurtunity for more open space for lets say a community garden or dog park or something. Thank, Joel
